Rensselaer City School District

The Rensselaer City School District (RCSD) is a small urban public school district located across the Hudson River from New York State’s capital, Albany. Serving approximately 1,062 students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade across Van Rensselaer Elementary School and Rensselaer Junior/Senior High School, RCSD is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational environment emphasizing personalized learning where "everybody knows your name," ensuring no student feels "lost in the mix.

With RCSD's small class sizes and close-knit school community, we ensure that each student receives the individual attention and support they need to thrive academically and personally. We believe that when students feel recognized, valued, and supported, they are better positioned for success.

With 80% of students graduating with college credit, RCSD is committed to academic excellence and preparing students for success beyond graduation.
