Members of the Rensselaer City School District Community:

The new school year is almost upon us!  We had great participation in our summer school programs and are looking forward to a “normal” return to school this year!  The first day of classes will be Tuesday, September 6th.  You can find the 2024-25 school year calendar on our website.

We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our students and breathing life back into the school building.  An empty school building never feels quite right.  

The district will begin this year with a focus on improving attendance and engagement.  We want all students to take ownership of their future and to ensure that education is a rewarding experience.  Parental partnership in this goal will be the key to success and the foundation to the best possible education we can offer.

We know that everyone is shopping for back to school supplies.  Please note that the VRES supply lists and JSHS supply lists are posted on our website.  Our PTA has teamed up with School Tool Box to make that shopping easier for those pressed for time.
